Garnet in color with a mild nose of red cherries. On the mid palate the wine displays deep rich cherries along with dark chocolate notes. On the longer side in length the wine’s tannins are BIG, FIRM and ripe, sticking to the togue. Super dry. This wine is a little young and should easily have another 2-5 years of storage and it will soften out. I would give it an 88 or so, quite a nice entry level Barolo for the price. Pale golden in color with a nice apple and pear nose. On the mid palate the wine displays lovely apple and pear fruits along with some nice vanilla notes. On the medium length finish the wine is nice and dry with some creaminess coming through. This is somewhere in between in terms of oak influence, this is less oaked than one of my current goto favs, the Henry of Pelham Short Hills chard … I would give it an 88 or so, we paired it with grilled calamari and scallops and it was delicious, yumm, I will be going back to get more, not cheap, but yummy and another great Niagara oaked chard!
