Porcupine Ridge Rosé 2020

Salmon in color with a nice tart minerally nose. On the mid palate the wine starts out packing a good tart punch of cranberry and the like. On the lighter side of medium in length the wine peters out quickly with not a lot of depth of complexity. Of late we have had a number of boisterous Rose’s , ya this isn’t one of those. I would give it an 87-88, especially given the price. I wouldn’t be rushing out for more, but we enjoyed it none the less. Nice to try a South African Rose! from the LCBO web site, check stock:

Porcupine Ridge Rosé 2020 from LCBO

Shy, bone-dry 2020 from chiefly young-vine cinsaut, touch syrah. Crisp cranberry fruit & some attractive mid-palate weight. Good, for early drinking. Score – 3 Stars (out of 5). (Cathy Marston, Platter’s South African Wine Guide, 2021)
