Marynissen Cabernet/Merlot 2017

Dark in color with a mild black berry nose that passed quickly as it breathed. On the mid palate the wine displays black berry notes, black plum, black cherries and the like. The fruit is most notable without food and with some breathing. On the medium length finish there are some nice earthy notes and dusty tannins, nice and ry. Not a bad wine, but serve it with something softer, we served it with a red pasta and it went ok, but honestly, the food overwhelmed the wine. I would give it an -88. I wouldn’t rush out to grab more but won’t be returning the other one I have (even if I could) … From the LCBO web site, check stock:
