Agriverde Eikos Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2017

Dark in color with a mild dark berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice dark berry notes to match the nose along with some nice mocha notes. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice smooth dusty tannins and nice vibrant acidity that dance on the tongue, nice and dry. This wine punches above it’s price point, I would give it an 88 or so. We paired with with red sauce meat spaghetti and it went well … This wine is vegan and organic, vegan in case you don’t know, means they only use non animal based products to fine the wine. Agriverde Eikos Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017 from LCBO

This organic wine was aged six months in oak, then spent six months in bottle before being released. Look for really lovely fruit that has a good complexity and breadth. The acid is well balanced and delivers some juiciness to the texture, while the tannins are relaxed and nicely integrated. Overall, it’s a very attractive and versatile wine that’s best enjoyed sooner than later (by 2025), while it retains its very appealing freshness. Score – 91.
