Inky dark in color with a nice dark fruit nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some lovely, albeit milder dark cherry fruits along with some mocha and dark chocolate. On the medium length finish the wine displays some firm peppery notes, firm tannins and bright lively acidity, nice and dry! I could easily close my eyes and imagine this being a good California cab. I quite enjoyed it. It may need a little more time breathing to let the fruit come out and the finish settle down, but I’m not sure if that will happen. It is yummy as it is, I would give it an 88 or so. Very nice. From the LCBO web site, check stock:

This red is reminiscent of a good Bordeaux, featuring flavors of plum, black currant, cedar, iron and toasty oak. A flash of Mediterranean herbs places it in Tuscany, with tobacco and sweet spices gracing the long aftertaste. Drink now through 2036. (Bruce Sanderson,winespectator.com,Oct. 15, 2024)
