Southbrook Triomphe Organic Cabernet Franc Rosé 2018

Salmon in color with a mild nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice crisp minerality, some citrus and zest notes. On the medium length finish the wine displays crisp palate coating acidity. There’s a hint of tartness to the finish. I would give it an -88. This is quite a food friendly wine, and should hold it’s one with a lot of different foods.

The Cabernet Franc really shines through here, with notes of bell pepper alongside the red raspberry, cherry and orange citrus tones. This is lithe, tangy, fresh and long, with a subtle Cab Franc savouriness on the close. It will be a nice sipper, but would also match well with a charcuterie platter, grilled salmon, or black-bean veggie burgers. (Vintages panel, May 2019)
