Monte del Frà Lena di Mezzo Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore 2015

Dark in color with a nice red berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice juicy red berries. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice firm tannins and acidity. Quite a nice, varietal ripasso, I would give it an 88-89. We paired it with a steak and it went really well and held it’s own well! Sorry to be a little slow on posts, busy holiday period!

A very pretty nose of dried lavender, rose petals and sweet morello cherries. Medium to full body, lots of tension, fine acidity and a minerally, driven finish. Drink now. Score – 92. (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 20, 2017) $22.95
