2012 Castello di Neive Barbaresco

Garnet in color with a light red berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice soft red berries, rustic notes and dried fruits. But where a good Barbaresco lives is in the finish. On the medium length finish the wine displays some subtle super dryness that builds in the mouth, especially without food. There some nice smooth tannins and acidity. Barbarescos are a cheap mans Barolo made from the same grape, the Nebbiolo. I would give this an 88+. A great example of a this Italian wine style.
