2013 Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay

I last reviewed the 2012 vintage of this wine and enjoyed it. The wine is pale to golden in color with a lovely varietal chard nose with some mild pear notes coming through. On the mid palate this wine is a beautiful example of a California style chard. Lots of rich butter, cream, butterscotch and vanilla coming through. On the medium length finish the wine shows some nice acidity to balance out the experience. I would give this a 90. Yumm, and for the price! We paired it with pan seared scallops and it was a little piece of heaven in my mouth! If you don’t like oaked chards stay away from this one, you will hate it.
