MAZZEI SER LAPO CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA 2008 mini review

Dark in color with a nice smooth nose of dried fruits. On the mid pallet the wine displays some dried fruits to match the nose. Almost raisiny. On the medium finish the wine displays some firm acidity along with some tannins. I would give it an 88 or so.

Tasting Note
Very floral, with licorice, aniseed and blackberries. Full body, with silky tannins and lots of chocolate, coffee and berries on the finish. Balanced, yet very rich. A top Chianti Classico. Best in 2014. Score – 93. (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Dec. 19, 2011)
