2008 Blackjack Major’s line Shiraz

Inky dark in color with a mild nose. On the mid pallet the wine displays some nice black berries. On the medium length finish the wine displays some tannins along with some pepper. This is definitely a kinder, gentler shiraz. I would give it an 88 or so. This would be a reasonably food friendly wine.

Medium- to full red-purple; an elegant medium-bodied wine that has a full array of ripe shiraz, with poached plum, cherry, spice and licorice aromas and flavours; the tannins are fine, the oak subtle. Drink [until] 2040. Score – 92. (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, March 17, 2011)
