RABL KÄFERBERG GRÜNER VELTLINER 2011

Pale in color with a lovely nose of minerality. On the mid pallet the wine displays some light minerally notes to match the nose along with some lime. The wine is on the lighter side of medium in length with some of the lime lingering. I would give it an 88 or so. Not the best Gruner but not the worst either.

Description
Past vintages of this yet-to-be-reviewed wine showcase an impressive history. The 2010 vintage of this single-vineyard Grüner Veltliner added a rating of 4 stars (out of 5) from the 2012 Decanter World Wine Awards to an already impressive catalogue of international honours that date back to 1950.

Tasting Note
Aromas of white flowers, apples, melon, minerality and spice engage the senses here. The palate is again quite fruity with a burst of refreshing acidity. The lovely smoky mineral note really strands out. Pair this impressive wine with chicken schnitzel or trout. (VINTAGES panel, Nov. 2012)
