2009 Sandhill Cab Franc

2009 Sandhill Cab Franc

We had this wine on our visit to Big White Ski resort. Okanogan wines are featured prominently throughout the village at Big White. This one was recommended by our server.  Crying shame we don’t get more of the Okanogan wines in Ontario.  Lighter in color with a lovely nose of dark cherries consistent with a Cab Franc.  On the mid pallet this wine is dominated by red berries and some lovely Cab Franc varietal flavors.  On the finish the wine has some firm tannins and some nice dry ppucker power that builds in the mouth.  I would give it an 89-90.  $22 a bottle in BC but not available in the LCBO.
