Mini review from the Food and Wine show:
This wine is dark in color mild on the nose. On the mid pallet this wine is a soft, light thin varietal zin. There was not a lot happening on this one for me. There’s some oak present and the alcohol was under control. For this price I expect a whole lot better. I would give this an 87 or so. Skip it …

From the LCBO web site (Not the same year as was at the event):
CLOS DU VAL ZINFANDEL 2006 VINTAGES 590216 | 750 mL bottle Price: $ 22.95
Wine, Red Wine 13.9% Alcohol/Vol. Sugar Content : D

Made in: California/Californie, United States By: Clos Du Val Wine Company Ltd.,

This zesty Zin is dominated by ripe, dark cherry and berry pie aromas with hints of anise and black pepper. Soft and creamy, with mixed berry flavours and gentle tannins, this wine is easy to love. You’ll definitely want to break out the barbecue for this one.
