2008 Murphy Goode Chardonnay

We stopped by Rodney’s Oyster bar and they had this one on the menu by the glass. The wine is golden in color with loads of deep rich varietal chard smells wafting off the glass. Yumm. My taste buds are all ready. On the mid pallet this is a California style chard with lots of butter (but not over the top), lovely vanilla and the right amount of oak. This is a well crafted spot on varietal California style chard. The finish is medium in length and it lingers and builds nicely in the mouth. I would give this one a 90. Not available at the LCBO unfortunately but $14 at the winery. If your at Rodney’s this is an excellent choice. The wine by the way is from Sonoma California. I tried Natalie’s food and wine pairing and she suggests a chardonnay. So there you go. Oddly enough I would have chosen a Sauv blanc.
