2006 Tin Roof Merlot

We stopped on by The Old Mill Inn and Spa here in Toronto last night. I love the ambiance of this place. It just feels wonderful. Lamb was on my radar so the 2006 Tin Roof Merlot looked like a good choice and after some discussion we decided to give it a go. The wine is dark in color, mild on the nose. On the mid pallet are some lovely dark cherry flavors along with some nice subtle Merlot plum. On the finish there was a bit of a tartness to it, but this quickly faded. This is not an altogether fruit forward Merlot but quite good. I would give this one a 90. Sadly not available in the LCBO so you will have to go over to the Old Mill and have some yourself. Yumm. This is my second tin roof wine. I previously blogged about their Chardonnay which I also enjoyed.
