Thomas Goss Merlot 2018

Dark in color with a nice black berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice firm black plummy notes along with some chocolate. On the medium length finish the wine displays some smooth tannins and acidity as well as some noticeable black peppery notes … nice and dry. Not a bad merlot at all!. I would give it an -88 which for the price is good. Not as firm as some French merlots, not as fruity as California merlots … Pretty much right in the middle. From the LCBO web site, check stock:

Product Details

Richly fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows dark berry, vanilla, roasted nut and mixed spice aromas, leading to a supple palate that’s richly textured and lingering. The wine offers excellent power and persistency backed by polished tannins, making it delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2030. Score – 93. (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Feb. 2021)
