El Pedrosal Crianza 2016

Dark in color with a mild red berry oaky nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some mild red fruits, almost some vermouth notes … On the medium length finish the wine displays firm edgy tannins, super velvety dryness that stick to the tongue noticeable oak and smokey notes. I’d have to say this wine is pretty close to past due. It’s not horrible, but if I had more I would most definitely take them back … I would give it it an 87 or so. It’s not impossible I had a bad bottle? From the LCBO web site, check stock:

Dark violet. Vibrant red and dark berry and floral aromas are complemented by suggestions of licorice, cola and pipe tobacco. Sweet and lively on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and cherry flavors sharpened by a snap of zesty minerality. Seamless and approachable, delivering solid closing thrust and smooth tannins that lend shape and gentle grip to the persistent finish. Drinking window: 2022-2028. Score – 92.
