Wither Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2020

I’ve had this Sauv blanc a number of vintages in the past and liked it … Pale straw in color with a nice grassy nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice vibrant grassy notes to go along with the nose along with some nice grapefruit and green apple. This is a solid, edgy, racy sauv blanc so be careful what you serve it with . On first meal we had it with Carbonara and honestly it overpowered the food. Take two was with duck wings and it cut through the fat beautifully. I would give it an -88, a classic New Zealand Sauv blanc. From the LCBO web site, check stock:

Wither Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2020 from LCBO

It’s classically styled and expressed, showing Granny Smith apple, apricot, lemon peel and jasmine notes on the nose, leading to a wonderfully flavoursome palate offering excellent fruit power and persistency, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2023. Score – 93. (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, March 2021)
