Rioja Vega Crianza 2016

Dark in color with a mild nose, about all that is mild about this wine. On the mid palate the wine displays some firm black cherries along with some nice chocolate notes. On the medium length in finish this wine displays some firm peppery notes that easy with food and as it breathes along with some nice firm tannins and acidity, nice and dry. This is not as much a bruiser as some, but is definitely a bigger wine. We paired it with lamb and it was a perfect pairing. I’d give it an 88 which for the price is a good deal.
