2015 Azul cab Sauv (mini review)

I previously tasted Azul’s Sauv blanc and enjoyed it! This one is inky dark in color with a bold dark cherry nose. On the mid palate the wine has a lovely, expressive dark cherry taste to match the nose along with some hints of mocha. On the medium length finish the wine displays some subtle tannins and acidity. This would be a super food friendly wine for dishes like red sauce based pasta, or salmon. I would give it an 88+. Not in the LCBO but available in cases of 12 for $26 a bottle from Apparition Wines. Yumm. This wine saw no oak, so it allows the fruit to be the star … It is 100% cab sauv.

From the winery’s web site:
This is a fresh and vibrant style of Cabernet Sauvignon with flavor nuances of black cherry, cassis and red plumb with slight notes of coffee and black pepper. Ideal for burgers, barbecue and grilled meats.
