2014 Cathedral cellars Cab sauv

I was over at Prohibition the other day and they had this wine on for $5 a glass as part of their hooch hour. So WTF … why not. Dark in color with a nice fruity cherry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some fruit forward dark cherry notes to match the nose along with some mocha. On the medium length finish the wine displays some smooth tannins and nice dryness. This is a surprisingly not bad wine. I would give it an 88 or so. Quite food friendly. I paired it with lamb at Prohibition and it went well! Full bodied and firm is how the LCBO describe it, for me that would be embellishing a bit.
