2014 Peppoli Chianti Classico

A while back I did a writeup after a tasting of a bunch of chianti’s from Gabbiano. I learned lots about the region. This chianti classico has seen some time in oak, and then some bottle aging. Nothing specific on the bottle as to length of time in each. On the nose the wine displays some nice soft red berries. On the mid palate the wine matches the nose with some lovely soft red berries along with some typical dried fruit flavors. On the medium length finish the wine displays some lively, bright acidity along with some nice smooth tannins and some smokey notes. A classic chianti, pun intended. I would give it an 88 or so. This is a vintages essential product so readily available. A perfect companion for pastas, pizzas or rabbit!
