COLUMBIA CREST H3 MERLOT 2013 mini review

Inky dark in color with a dark berry nose with a hint of plum coming through. On the mid palate the wine displays some rich dark cherries and a hint of plum. On the medium length finish there’s some nice tannins and dryness. I would give it an 88 or so. More like a cab than a Merlot but good none the less. I would agree full bodied and smooth as the LCBO describes it.

From the LCBO web site:
COLUMBIA CREST H3 MERLOT 2013 Horse Heaven Hills, Columbia Valley
This wine is sibling to the tremendously popular Vintages Essential (210047), Columbia Crest H3 Cabernet Sauvignon.
TASTING NOTE: Outstanding wine and value. Rich with ripe red raspberry and dark chocolate. Long intense finish. An elegant mouthfeel full of luscious flavors that keep on evolving. Score: 93 (Tasting panel, Cheers, Sept. 18, 2015) Full-bodied & Smooth 209874 (D) 750 mL $19.95
