Heitlinger Baden 2013 Pinot Noir

Last year I attended the German consulate’s wine event and was thrilled to discover some German Pinot Noirs. Locally they are referred to as Spatburgunder. This is one of those, but from this years event. Garnet in color with a lovely varietal rustic nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice rustic notes to match the nose along with some soft red berries. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice acidity and dryness. A very nice pinot indeed and it would be very food friendly. Sadly not in the LCBO yet, $21 a bottle.
