Château Pierre de Montignac 2009

Dark in color with a mild nose. on the mid palate the wine displays some nice dark berries backed by some nice woody notes along with some firm acidity and tannins. There’s a hint of pepper on the finish, some nice dryness and some noticeable alcohol. The Cab cab is nicely present here. It’s a bit young and would benefit from a little aging or decanting. I would give it an 88 or so. Quite nice.

This is packed, with lots of plush dark plum, fig and linzer torte notes, carried by sweet spice and caressed by well-integrated toast through the juicy finish. Very solid. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Score – 90. (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, March 31, 2012) $23.95
