Castello Monterinaldi Chianti Classico 2010

Light red in color with a nice soft red berry nose and a hint of dried fruits on the nose. On the mid palate the wine matches the nose with lovely soft red berries and a hint of dried fruits. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice oak notes along with some bright acidity, some smooth tannins and a hint of pepper. I would give it an 88-89. We paired it with a bacon quiche and it went well. It would be perfect for any red sauce based pasta.

From the LCBO web site:
Castello Monterinaldi Chianti Classico 2010 — VINTAGES#: 383604
STYLE – Medium-bodied & Fruity
This is still somewhat closed on the nose but reveals hints of plum and espresso. The palate is much more expressive, showing ripe red cherry notes layered with white pepper, cinnamon, vanilla and espresso. A classy and polished wine. Score – 90. (Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2013) $19.95
