Buena Vista Chardonnay 2013

Pale in color with a lovely nose of vanilla and pear. On the mid palate the wine displays some pear along with vanilla, oak and a hint of butterscotch. This is a classic California style chard. Be sure and not serve it too cold or you will miss out on the complexity of the wine. The wine is medium in length on the finish with some nice crisp dryness and some acidity. We paired it with scallops and it went really well. If you like your chards fruit forward … this isn’t the wine for you. I would give it an 89 or so. Yumm

Founded in 1857, Buena Vista was California’s first premium winery. The 2013 Chardonnay has forward buttery oak and vanilla notes on the nose, but there’s plenty of tropical fruit as well.
