2008 Saint Joseph Vignes de L’Hospice mini review

Another one of the stars from the Vinexx portfolio tasting. Dark in color with a nice rich nose of berries. On the mid pallet this wine unfolds itself with layers of complexity. Lovely rich black berries coming through. On the medium length finish this wine displays some nice tannins, some lingering fruity notes along with some pepper coming through. I would give this wine a solid 90. Yummy. I went back for extra samples … shhh don’t tell anyone 🙂

Tasting Note
Lovely violet, white pepper, black cherry and roasted tobacco aromas and flavors are supported by a mouthwatering chalky edge that cuts through the perfumy finish. Very nicely done for the vintage. Drink now through 2015. Score – 92. (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Oct. 15, 2011)
