Napa cellars 2011 Chardonnay

Happy Canada day weekend one and all from CWG and I!

Pale to golden in color with a lovely varietal chard nose. On the mid pallet this wine is smack on varietal California chard. This one is displaying some very nice bold fruit, some butter and some vanilla. Oak and alcohol are well under control. This is a well made wine. It lingers nicely in the mouth for a medium length finish. I would give this a 90. Yum. Now comes the question of value. Two of my favourite chards are Chateau St Jean at 19.95 or Sterling at 14.95. So while its good the value equation is a tough sell.

This consistent Napa Chardonnay evokes apple and lime notions with intriguing tropical mango complexities. Butter and vanilla notes are prominently featured adding the finishing touches to the aroma cache. On the palate focused oak supports the rich fruit flavours. Ideal for seafood appetizers, grilled chicken, or pork.
