GUENOC CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2010

Dark in color with a funky earthy nose right out of the bottle. This passes relatively quickly leaving a mild varietal cab nose with some black berries. On the mid pallet the wine displays some varietal cab flavours and some nice deep black berries to match the nose. On the medium length finish the wine displays some spicy notes, some pepper and some firm tannins. I would give it an 88-89.

Tasting Note
A beautifully balanced Cabernet with classic notes of cassis and blackberry. Full-bodied with a lovely long finish. Chewy tannins so decant for 1-2 hours. This wine would be terrific with prime rib. Food matches: grilled back ribs, steaks, chicken cacciatore, pasta, sherry potatoes. Drink: 2012-2016. Score – 91. (Natalie MacLean, nataliemaclean.com, Dec. 18, 2012)
