SMALL GULLY THE FORMULA ROBERT’S SHIRAZ 2007

I tasted this one at the Toronto Food and wine show. Dark in color with nose of dark berries and some oak. On the mid pallet this is a deep rich fruit forward shiraz with lovely blue berries coming through to match the nose. On the finish the wine has some lovely smooth tannins and varietal shiraz pepper. This is a very nice Shiraz. I’d give it an 88-89. Yumm.

Tasting Note
Deep garnet-brick colored, the 2007 The Formula Robert’s Shiraz gives mature notes of leather, tobacco and stewed tea over dried cranberries, fruit cake and coffee. Rich, densely packed and full-bodied in the mouth, the voluptuous fruit is well-balanced by crisp acid and rounded tannins, finishing long and spicy. Drink this one now to 2015. Score – 90.
