Borgogno 1997 Barolo Riserva

Trialto recently held a Borgogno Barolo tasting at the fine wine reserve! The 21 year old wine maker attended the event.

This wine was the highlight of the evening (for me). Dark in color with a nose of dried fruits. On the mid pallet this is a classic Barolo with lots of dried fruits, superb dry pucker power that builds slightly in the mouth. On the long finish the wine has some smooth tannins. This wine has aged beautifully and has resulted in a smooth elegant Barolo. I would give it a solid 91. Available by the half case for $115 a bottle from Trialto, not in the LCBO. Yumm!

The winery.
