MARCHESE ANTINORI CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA 2006

This wine is dark in color with lots of dark berries and cherry coming through on the nose. On the mid pallet the wine is deep and rich with lovely complex fruit. On the long finish the wine is quite dry with a nice bit of pucker power. With is a smooth well made Chianti. The extra time in the oak have paid off. I would give it a 91. Very nice!

Description
This wine is basically a selection of the very best Sangiovese grapes from Antinori’s Chianti Classico vineyards (excluding those used for their top-end Badia a Passignano). Look for raspberry, plum, strawberry, dried meat and new leather aromas and flavours. This dry and fresh, youthful wine will still benefit from cellar time (3-5 years), but if you decant it (2 hours) you can enjoy it tonight with game meats, bison steaks or grilled lamb.
