CASTELLO DI AMA CHIANTI CLASSICO 2006

This wine is dark in color with a rich cherry bouquet coming through on the nose. The mid pallet is bright, fruity with lots of dark berries coming through. The finish is medium in length. This is a spot on Chianti and a good one. I would give it a 90. Very nice.

Description
TASTING NOTE: Medium-deep bright ruby-red. Ripe aromas of dark berries, bitter chocolate and gunflint, along with a medicinal dried herb nuance. Compellingly suave and fine-grained on entry, then sweet, bright and light on its feet in the middle palate, featuring flavors of blackcurrant, licorice and flint. Finishes ripe and creamy-smooth, with a lingering note of cherry candy and good grip. Score: 91 (Ian D’Agata, International Wine Cellar, July/Aug. 2010)
