2004 Scharzhofberger Egon Muller Kabinett Riesling

Pale in color mild on the nose. On the mid pallet this wine is a nice dry, well made, smooth Kabinett Riesling. Tastes of light citrus notes, and some minerality come through nicely. There is a slight bit of sweetness typical of a Riesling but well under control. The finish is on the lighter side of medium. This is a well made food friendly wine. But for the price I have to say I’d put my money elsewhere. I would give it an 88.

Tasting Note
A rich, creamy style, featuring lime, apricot and stone notes. This has super texture, though it’s a bit less expressive in flavor. There’s a nice citrus and slate aftertaste. Drink now through 2020. Score – 90. (Bruce Sanderson, www.winespectator.com)
