Cookoothama 2008 Chardonnay

This wine is pale yellow in color mild on the nose. On the mid pallet this wine is a bit confusing. It has some mild varietal chard flavors blended with some Sauv blanc tartness. It did not work all that well in the mouth. There was some oak as well as some vanilla (my GF got caramel). The wine was medium in length with the finish more on the watery side of a chard. This was by no means an aweful wine, but I wouldn’t rave about it either. I would give it an 87-88. I won’t be running out for more. I paired it with lobster and it went ok, holding up to it just fine.
