Peter Lehmann Shiraz Barossa 2006

This one came to my attention as #54 of the top 100 Wines of 2009 from Wine Spectator. They gave it a 91 for $16US. The wine is quite dark in color, very fragrant with lots of cassis and cherries leaping out at you. On the mid pallet are some lovely flavors to match the bouquet with cassis dominant. I don’t get the leather the rater below got and I find the oaks and tannins are well under control. The wine has a nice dryness to it. There are no peppers on the finish and this is a relatively smooth wine, but there are some vinegar flavors on the finish. I would give it an 89 or so. Perhaps I do not have the exact wine they rated.
