PENMARA FIVE FAMILIES SHIRAZ

Stopped by Spice route for dinner last night and my dinner guest had this one. The wine is typical inky dark, very mild on the nose. On the mid pallet there is the usual fruit flavors and on the long finish is lots of typical Aussie pepper. No mistaking this wine. Some alcohol is prevalent, some breathing would help. For the price this wine is a good deal. I would give the wine an 88-89.

I had the J Lohr Riverstone Chard that I previously reviewed and was impressed again. A lovely chard.
