Dark in color with a mild dark berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice dark cherry notes along with some firm tannins and acidity that linger nicely in the mouth. On the medium length finish the wine displays nice dry notes and velvety tannins that linger in the mouth especially on it’s own. This wine definitely has a bite, if your looking for smooth elegant wine, this isn’t that. It has ripe dark fruit, cassis, tobacco, chocolate, and oak spice, with medium tannins. A great wine with lamb or steak, this superb value will evolve for 5-8 years from vintage, making it a great cellar starter.
