Corte Medicea Cletus 2021

This is another Super Tuscan, or IGT that get’s to skirt the laws on min Sangiovese percentages and is in fact 50% sangiovese and 50% merlot. Dark in color with a mild nose. On the mid palate the wine delivers some beautiful rich tomato notes, in line with it’s Sangiovese backbone along with some nice red fruits. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice velvety smooth tannins, nice dryness and nice acidity. It’s a lovely well balanced, softer wine. We paired it with venison and it was delicious. I would easily give it an 88, which for the price is a bargain. I actually went back and got more, it’s that good.
