OAK BAY PINOT NOIR 2010

Garnet in color with a rustic nose along with some raspberry and strawberry. On the mid oallet the wine displays raspberry, strawberry and rustic notes to match the nose. The wine is on the lighter side of medium in length with little to no tannins. There isn’t a lot going on in the finish of this wine. It’s a little disappointing. Most Okanagan wines are pretty big, not this one. I would give it an 87-88. It is quite food friendly. We paired it with roast chicken and it went ok. The LCBO describe it as Medium bodied and Fruity. I would agree with fruity for sure. Extra dry? Really?

Tasting Note
Beginning to show maturity in its colour and aromas. Rich tones of earth, dried cranberry and dry forest join quite ample cherry notes on the nose. Just about into its prime drinking time. The tannins are soft, and offer a lovely framework for the replays. A touch of spice adds nice complexity. (VINTAGES panel, April 2013)
