2013 ERRAZURIZ SAUVIGNON BLANC

I love Sauv Blancs. They are super food friendly! In the past there were a number of inexpensive Chilean Sauv blancs but over time they have been removed from the LCBO. This one remains. It’s clear based on the bottle renaming they are attempting to kick it up stream referring it as an Estate Sauv Blanc. Fortunately, for now, this isn’t reflected in the price. I’ve tried the Reserva and been underwhelmed on the value equation (not worth the extra dollars). The change in label took me a second to figure out. This one is pale in color with a lovely nose of grapefruit and some grassy notes. On the mid pallet the wine displays some soft grapefruit to match the nose along with some lovely mouth grip leaving some nice citrus notes. This is yet again another great year for this inexpensive wine. At this price it is a bargain compared to much more expensive New Zealand wines. Now it’s not as boisterous as some but yummy none the less. I would give it a SOLID 89. A perfect companion for spicy foods, Asian foods and many other dishes!

Pale straw in colour, this medium bodied white has fresh grassy aromas, with lots of citrus and green apple, the citrus carries through on the palate and the finish is dry and refreshing.
